Target Toy Clearance

This is one of my favorite times of year to shop at Target! Not only will you find all the seasonal Christmas goodies on clearance, you'll find a whole lot of other goodness!

Give yourself a good chunk of time to walk through the entire store. You'll find items on end caps through out the store that are marked down! If there is an abundance of a particular item, then I usually wait until it is marked down to 75% (and sometimes even 90%!) before I purchase it (of course you always risk that it will be gone if you wait... that is why I only do this if there is a large stock of product).

For the past three years, I've hit the clearance in the TOY department and stocked up on some super cheap toys to use as gifts through out the year. When the kids are invited to birthday parties, rather than going an paying $10-$20 for a gift, we simply go to my closet and my child picks something out that I paid less than $5 for! Shweet!

I haven't had time to go check out Target yet, but I'm sure the toys aren't marked down to 75% yet. They are probably anywhere from 30-50% off. According to Deal Beacon, toys are marked down on Wednesdays. I'm not sure if Christmas clearance follows this same schedule, but I'm going to check it out tomorrow.

And of course, getting some super cheap and super cute Christmas decor for next year is always fun! I also love to pick up cute and festive paper goods for next year. They work great for the neighbor goody plates!

Found something fab??? Leave a comment!!

Target Toy Clearance

Word around the blogosphere is that Target is drastically reducing their toy stock by putting a bunch of stuff on clearance - as much as 75% off! I haven't been into my local Target to see how the stock is, so if you see some good stuff, let me know! In January I got a 4 pack of HSM dolls for $7. Pretty sweet stuff! Christmas gifts anyone??

Osh Kosh & Carter Clearance

Thank you reader Amy for this tip!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that there is a pretty awesome clearance event going on at Osh Kosh in the outlet mall. There are 24 racks of clearance! It's all summer stuff so a good time to stock up for next year or to get through the rest of the summer! It ranges from $1.99-9.99. I would say most of the stuff is $1.99-6.99. Shoes, socks, accessories, hats, and bags are on clearance. And here is a coupon good for 20% off of $50 that you can share with everyone.
The sale ends on the 15th. She was just there again and said there is still quite a bit of stuff left.

Here is the Carters 20% off $50 or more coupon.

Clean hair and an upcoming promo!

I had been hearing about this steal on John Frieda shampoo/conditioner on clearance at Albertsons. Because I am a loyal John Frieda user, I was thrilled. In my pre-coupon days, I used to cough up $6 a bottle (GASP!) for those puppies. Well I called around, and sadly none of the stores in my area had any left. I was bummed, but I figured I would catch the next deal. But, look what I found while out using another set of doublers at Albertsons today:
There are plenty left locally at the Overland/Orchard store. The deal works like this:

Buy 5 bottles of shampoo/conditioner on clearance for $3.24= $16.20

Use 5 $2/1 coupons from 4/5 SS= $6.20

When you purchase 5 in one transaction, a catalina will print for $5 off your next shopping trip (which I would have taken a picture of as well, but I spent it on my next transaction!), making your grand total= $1.20 for 5 bottles, or .24 cents per bottle!!!

A pretty sweet deal, right? Well then this little tidbit of info printed out after I had finished my transaction:
Starting Wednesday, and running for 2 weeks, if you purchase any combination of the products listed, you get 2 free movie tickets. The fine print says that you will have to download and print your movie tickets from a TBA website, and that they can be used for any movie. Sweet! I get to buy Keebler cookies AND get free movie tickets. Be still my heart!

And a sneak peak at the upcoming Albertsons ad shows these products on sale for this promo:

Chips Deluxe cookies, 12.5-18 oz 1.97

$2
Rice Krispie Treats
Yogos bits or Crashers (?)

$2.50
Pop tarts
Cheez-it crackers
Eggo syrup
Keebler fudge shop or EL Fudge cookies
Town House crackers (reg., toppers or flipsides)
Cereal:
Honey smacks
Cocoa Krispies
Apple Jacks
Rice Krispies
Frosted Flakes
Mini Wheats bite size
Froot Loops

$3
Eggo Waffles 19.8 oZ

$4
Keebler multi-pack cookies or crackers

Thanks HCW!

So if you haven't already printed the Kellogg's cereal coupon here, now might be a good time!

Lemonade Award!

I've been so busy, I haven't had time to recognize the award we received not only from Michelle over at Saving Some Green, but also from Marne from Making Life Sweet... One Deal at a Time. Thanks Ladies! What an honor! We sure are having fun with this blog!

So who do I pass it on to? Of course, I'll send it on over to those Krazy Coupon Ladies - another local bunch who is helping us all save some cash! They've got a bunch of women posting - so there is always some action going on over there!

I also must send one over to Laura at Real Mom Kitchen, she has THE BEST recipes!! Although she isn't a "coupon/frugal" blog, she definitely has helped me save money as she has inspired me to cook and try new recipes, when I would have grabbed a burger instead. Thanks Laura!

And lastly, to the crafty creative Marie at Makes and Takes - she has given me so many great ideas for my preschool... these ideas are most often things you can make with everyday items in your home.

Thank you ladies, for your very "unsour" attitudes - I'd say you're as sweet as can be and you inspire me!

Target's Clearance Toys

Target's clearance toys have finally gone to 75% off! (This is the Eagle/McMillan store. The Milwaukee store went down yesterday or the day before and was pretty picked over.) People were filling up carts - but there was still quite a bit left. On an endcap on the farthest aisle back almost to the corner of the store there were several other 75% off toys, so keep looking past the 2 toy aisles... including a set of 4 or 5 "High School Musical 3" prom barbie dolls. I wasn't interested in this b/c my girl is less than 1 yr old, but for those with young girls, it was only I think $7.48 or so (I looked at a lot of things but I think that was the right price.) Also, they had some Barbie cruise sets and beach party sets that were 14.98, normally $60.00. They had several Super Sleuth changing trees for those with kids who like "My Friends Tigger and Pooh." They were $10.98 or so. Have fun looking if you can make it over.

A big thanks to my friend Richelle who clued me in!

Google Reader

Google Reader is my best resource for reading and staying up to date on my coupon blogs.

-It reads like email so I don't have to go from site to site checking for updates.
-I can store all of my favorite sites in one place.
-I can use the search feature to search a particular blog or all of the sites in my reader.
-I can place a star on items I want to read again or save for later.
-I just learned about the TAG feature that allows you to file away all your favorites under different categories like recipes, scrapbook, photoshop, ect.
-I can read a title and skip to the next subject easily.

Oh how I love this tool, but careful it can become addicting.

My Favorite Home Decor Store is Closing... TOMORROW!

Just yesterday I got an email that my most fave decorating store is closing... and they are closing TOMORROW! I am so sad about it! I've been meaning to go in and get stuff for my kitchen, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm headed there now. They've got all of their stuff marked down. They are located on Overland, across the street from Walmart (8249 Overland #100) - I'm sure you won't find ANY crazy shoppers there, so don't worry, you'll be safe!
