Newbie Shopping Trip Scenario!

Since we have so many newbies, I thought it would be good to do a "newbie shopping trip post". Got a printer? Then you can do this!

#1 - Get your Double Coupons. The more "sets" you have, the better. You can always get one from customer service when you go to the store. Hopefully you grabbed the one from the Wednesday newspaper! OR, you'll also find them inside those annoying mini-papers that end up on your driveway on Wednesdays. Grab it out of your recycling, and find the Albertsons ad in it! OR ask your neighbor!

#2 - Make sure you've got ink in your printer! Be sure to read the Printing Coupons post if this is your very first time! {you can find more printing tips and a lot of other coupon tips in our Coupon Tip Tuesday series!}

#3- Plan on the shopping trip not going perfectly. It rarely does! :) When I did my shopping trip Wednesday afternoon, the store was all out of the free pasta. So I'm going to have to wait on that deal. I was also bummed when I realized I had already printed the tuna fish coupons, so I won't be able to purchase cans of tuna for $.10 each. But that is OK. I'm pretty well stocked anyway!

#4 - Now take a look at the shopping trip I did this afternoon:

TRANSACTION #1

I used two of these coupons to get me 4 boxes of cereal:
(on sale for $1.88 each)
And I printed one of these to use towards
my Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt
(on sale for $.50 each)
PLUS I used (2) $1.00/6 Dannon Light and Fit coupons from {smartsource}
(since I used the coupon earlier, I can't view it anymore - thus no screen shot!)

$7.52 - (4) boxes of Kellogg's
$8.00 - (16) Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt
-$3.00 - (2) $1.50/2 Kelloggs Cereal from
{coupons.com}
-$0.75 - (1) $.75/4 any brand yogurt from
{coupons.com}
-$2.00 - (2) $1.00/6 Dannon Yogurt from
{smartsource.com}
- $2.75 - (3) Albertsons Doublers
$7.02 FINAL Out of Pocket {"oop"}
RECEIVED: $3.00 catalina {aka: Albertsons Cash!} to use on my next transaction.

TRANSACTION #2:
I printed (2) of these coupons from {coupons.com}
and (1) from
{smartsource.com}
$16.47 - (3) Freschetta Pizza (great for those days that I just don't have time to make dinner!)
-$2.00 - (2) $1.00/1 any Freschetta Brand Pizza from {coupons.com}
-$1.00 - (1) $1.00/1 from {smartsource.com}
- $3.00 - (3) Albertsons Doublers
- $3.00 - Using the Catalina I just Received
$7.47 FINAL OOP {or $2.49 per pizza}
This is a good price for this kind of pizza. If I wanted to get a cheap one topping from Domino's, it'd cost me $5.99 per pizza. I enjoyed baking two tonight since it has been a busy day!

TRANSACTION #3:
I printed these coupons from two different computers {so I was able to get 4, but I only used 3}.
$1.00/1 Rhodes Warm N Serve Rolls from {coupons.com}
The every day price on these is $2.89 {sale price $2.69}
These are yummy and my four year old especially loves the "sticky bums". ;)
$8.67 - (3) Rhodes Warm N Serve Rolls
- $3.00 - (3) $1.00/1 any Rhodes Warm N Serve from {coupons.com}
- $3.00 - (3) Albertsons Doublers
$2.67 FINAL OOP {or $.89 per pack of rolls}

I've had shopping trips where I've spent less, but I was really wanting some of that pizza! :) We will do our best to post our shopping trips for all of our newbies this week! This IS possible and you WILL become addicted once you get your feet wet! You just got to jump in!

Someone took 75 so we ran out faster than expected. Sorry.
