FREE Coffee Mate=Smoothies

A few of you have asked why I buy Coffee Mate when I do not drink coffee. I never had even tried it until I started couponing and was able to get it for FREE once at Walgreens.
I thought I would show you how I use it.

But first you will need to getcha some

At Albertsons this week.....

Coffee Mate Creamer $2.00
Use $1 off Coffee Mate printable
Use Albertsons double coupon (save $1)
FREE

I use my VitaMix, which I love, but you could use a blender if you do not have one of these FAB kitchen tools.

1/3 C Coffee Mate Creamer
2-3 C of fruit (strawberries, oranges, pineapple, grapes)
1-2 C of ice

Blend and Enjoy!

Strawberries and cream is pictured here.

Simply pour a little bit or alot of cream over your berries or other fruit.

We also enjoy peaches and cream and nectarines and cream.

Do you have any good ideas for Coffee Creamer?

I have used creamer in smoothies, too! Great minds and all that... :D It also makes a very good addition to homemade hot cocoa mix. And I use it in my Pero (that is fake coffee made from barley.)

Noticed that you have a Vita Mix. I was at Costco on Friday and saw the presentation and am seriously thinking about buying one, but suffering from sticker shock ($365). From one frugal mommma to another, is yours worth what you paid for it? Just curious if I should invest. Thanks for the input!

Lisa- I almost explained this in the post, but I didn't want it to get too long winded.
I think it a totally a personal decision, but that being said here is my experience. They are very expensive.

My grandma gave us $400 for Christmas one year right before I saw a cativating demo at Costco. We must have gone by three times on three different days to look at it and try to decide.

Here is what sold me:
-It blends oats for my choc chip cookie recipe way faster than my reg blender.
- Spending that kind of money made me very commited to use eating more fruits and veggies. Which we need.
-My reg blender would not blend up frozen fruit like the vita mix does.

I used it a ton at first. We had fruit smoothie almost everyday and it was a great way to get my kids to eat fruit and veg. They love smoothies! "snoovies"

I tried almost every recipe in the book and would take the book with me to the store to help me decide which produce to buy.

Here are some other things I like about it:
If we do not use all of a smoothie I simply put it in a popsicle mold or ice cube tray and my kids would eat them later. CHEAP POPSICLES.

If I have apples or other produce that is getting soft or that we are not going to finish before it goes bad (like almost anytime we buy produce at costco) I simly cut it if needed and put it in the freezer. Then I use it to make smoothies and you can throw the frozen fruit right in the Vita Mix no problem. (you just have to have alittel liquid in there first, juice, milk, water, creamer)

Long winded, I told you.
So in the end it is up to you, but it was worth it to me to get us eathing more fruit/veg and be able to use all of our fruit with out it going bad.

I do not use it as much now as I did at first, but I still use it.
I may not have bought it if I did not have that money from my grandma. But I am sure glad I have it now.

- Oh we are going to use it to make fruit leather with the apricots from our tree. It makes it really easy to make jam too.

Coffee creamer can be used instead of milk when you are making your french toast. It is so good- Especially the flavored ones! Just mix eggs and creamer, maybe a dash of cinnamon and wallah! Delish!

Here's a yummy way to use coffee creamer and rotate your powdered milk. It's called Hot Cinnamon Milk.

*The Mix
2 C. Powdered Milk
1 C. powdered coffee creamer
1 1/4 c. Sugar
1 T. Cinnamon

*The Drink
Add 1/3 Cup Mix to 1 cup of hot water in a mug. Add a few drops of vanilla for extra flavor.

It's is so yummy. I love hot cocoa but this is just as good!

I use tons of creamer! My husband takes breakfast to work every day and we make homemade oatmeal packets (because he would be using FOUR a day!). Even though he uses water to cook his oatmeal, it is still creamy with the addition of creamer. He loves when I get flavored creamers, he especially likes the hazelnut.

They make incredible steamers! Perfect on a cold winter day! Our family loves to try all the different flavors (there are several out around the holidays) add them to milk, zap it in the microwave, and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top. YUMM! Steamers are a nice alternative to hot chocolate!

After drooling a little while reading this post :) I headed out to Albertson's to snag me some Coffee Mate. I bought 5 bottles ($10 worth, used coupons from the Coffee Mate website (doubled some) and only ended up spending $1.60 oop. Plus, a $1 Catalina printed out at the end. Not too shabby! Thanks for everything you do - I love your site!

Wow...I never thought about using coffee creamer in different ways, so I am VERY thankful for this post. I NEVER would have thought to pour it on my fruit! I poured it on some strawberries last night, and MAN...it was hard to stop eating! Lol. Thanks for the tips!

Oh, I forgot one of my favorite ways to use creamer before! Milkshakes! Put ice cream and flavored creamer in your blender and it makes tremendously yummy milkshakes :)
