Whole Frying Chicken Recipe

Heather tells us how she uses whole frying chicken:
I start with chicken stock,  I make my own the first time then freeze and reuse.  I usually have to add a few cups of water to cover the chicken. I bring the stock to a boil and add the chicken, remove innards first.  Once it comes back up to a boil I reduce to medium high and boil for close to an hour.  Pull the chicken out and let it cool completely.  Then cut all of the meat off and into small pieces, nickle-dime size.

Mix 1 whole cut up chicken with:
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 16 oz tub of sour cream, I use light
2 cups of shredded cheese

I use 8" tortillas, fill and roll them and place in 9x13 pan using half of mixture.  I pour the remaining mixture on the top and bake at 350 until the cheese is golden and bubbly, about 35 minutes.

When I have spare time, I cook a couple of chickens up and freeze the meat so that I can just pull it out and throw the enchiladas together on one of those busy days.

Thanks Heather

How to get Post Cereal Coupons

I was so bummed there were no Post cereal coupons in my insert today (even though they were listed in the Sunday Coupon Preview, here in Idaho, we didn't get them)! I was hoping to get some, because I'm pretty certain there will be a rockin Post Cereal sale in March, just like there was last March.

  • We know many other regions got this coupon.
  • We also know that there is a catalina running through March 21st (get a $3.00 catalina wyb 4 boxes, or get a $4.00 catalina wyb 5 or more boxes)
  • We are hoping for a fab sale to match with this coupon and catalina deal to get some super cheap cereal.

Last year, I purchased 60 boxes of Post Cereal. Most if it was Honey Bunches of Oats. The ONE cereal that EVERYONE in my family LOVES. I didn't buy enough. I want to buy enough THIS time, that will last me until I can get it for less than $.50 a box again.

So what am I going to do? That's right, I'm going to head to eBay (well, I already did). There are a few things to consider:
  • We obviously can't guarantee that the fabulous sale will run the exact same time as the catalina does (like last year). Although it seems they like to do these simultaneously to push a lot of product.
  • The coupons I want don't expire until 4/11
  • This cereal is a popular "staple" in my home. I'm willing to take the risk right now to purchase a lot of coupons at a cheap price (rather than wait until the sale is on and the prices go up... case in point: the $3/5 Quaker coupons). I found a set of 20 for $1.00 (buy it now), and the shipping was $.99. The seller had more than 10 sets available. And for additional sets, the shipping was $.39 for each additional set I added to my order.
  • Even if the stars don't align and this sale isn't as fab as it was last year, I'll still use these coupons. BECAUSE this is something my family will use.
Haven't done eBay before? Feel free to read my (lengthy) tutorial called eBay 101. Also, if you appreciate our free website, we certainly wouldn't mind if you come to our site to click through to eBay. It's just one small thing you can do to keep us up and running! :)

There are two different ways to shop eBay through our site. The easiest is just to click on the links we provide when we're talking about a specific coupon. Like this link for the $1.00/2 Post Cereal Coupons on eBay.

OR just go to the eBay toolbar...

So how many coupons are you going to get? Are you going to purchase now, or are you going to wait until a sale is official? Anyone want to guess how many coupons I purchased?

$20 Coupon Booklet for Albertsons Preferred Card Holders

I found this website called MakeItEasyTakeItEasy.com on the back of the 3/3 Albertsons ad and decided to check it out. After clicking around for a bit, I found the page where you can sign up to get a booklet of $20.00 worth of coupons mailed to you!

Simply fill out the form with your name, address, and preferred card number and then wait for 2-3 weeks for your coupon book (limit 1 per person or household).

You can see what brands are included in this booklet here.

Are you one of those people who can't find their preferred card and just gives the cashier your phone number instead? Just find a receipt and you'll see your preferred card number at the top!

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks for $.10 a box!!

I'm so excited to share this deal that starts 3/3 at Ablertsons!!!
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks for a buck!

Back in my precoupon days, getting a box of Fruit Snacks for a dollar was pretty dang awesome! Well, let's say it, even today it is awesome!

It gets better - if you recall, there is a CATALINA DEAL running on these!
When you buy FIVE,
you get a catalina (store voucher) for $3.50!!
So now it's like you've paid only
$1.50 for FIVE boxes!
(Yep, that's $.30 a box!)
We like hot sales, and we like coupons, but we LOVE when we combine the two!

We warned you last night to hurry and print the Betty Crocker Fruit Snack coupons at coupons.com (these are gone now). Be sure you also go to Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Box Tops for Education, and smartsource. And remember that you can print each coupon TWICE per computer! (do note that the coupons all read DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE)Many, if not all of these sites will update (or reset) on Monday, so be sure to print some today, and then come back on 3/1 to print them again!

BUY: (5) boxes of Fruit Snacks, Roll Ups, Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Gushers at $1.00 each
USE: (2) $.50/2 internet printable coupons (listed above)
OOP: $4.00 (plus tax)
RECEIVE: $3.50 catalina
Like paying $.50 for 5 boxes of fruit snacks!

Then DO IT AGAIN! The second time, you will use your catalina to reduce your OOP to $.50 for 5 boxes of Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks! (And remember you'll get ANOTHER catalina!)

And remember that this sale doesn't start until Wednesday!

These are great to have on hand to bribe your children to get their jobs done (works wonders for me!), use when your child has the "snack" at their basketball game (or what ever sport your kidlet is in right now), send with your preschooler on his/her snack day, keep in your car for when the little ones get cranky while you're driving around...

What are you going to do with your stockpile of dirt cheap fruit snacks?
