Are there any more doublers in the ad?

Julie said...

I was wondering, too, if there are more doublers on Wednesday (even if they are only good until 3/6). I can get a whole bunch of them for free if there are, because they come in the mail here, and everyone just throws them away. It's just post office garbage, so it's clean!

Jeez, what a week at Albertson's, huh? It's making my head spin. ConAgra! Kraft! Dannon! Chill!

Can't wait for the Dannon sale. Did you know you can dehydrate yogurt and make chewy yogurt snacks? We love them, so when I hit big yogurt sales, I go nuts and make a bunch of them. How does the price become $1.20? I know they've run "buy $10 of Dannon, get $2 instant savings" things in the past, but I can't figure out exactly what the deal is this time. Am I missing something?

You ladies are just the best.

I need to get moreS&W Beans $1.29
DOUBLE: $.50/2 from 2/14 RP
FINAL PRICE: $.79

is this a stock up price for those?

Amber said...

Sara,
I've gotten them as low as $.50/can, but $.79 is a good price.

Emilee Wolters said...

Julie,

I think that the Dannon is part of the spend $25 get 10 back...correct me if I am wrong.

I am out of doublers. Do you know if I can get more?

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Sara- I would take the coupon to Winco, I bet it would be a better price. FM brand beans are .50 a can this week.

ac- You may be able to get some at cs in your store. We do not get extras of the sunday ad.

Unknown said...

Sara - buy your S&W beans at winco - I think they are .68 cents a can (without a coupon).

Mama Yo said...

Julee - the ad I'm looking at does not have doubles. :(

Julie - Emilee is right, the Dannon is part of the spend $25 get $10 back.

Jessica - no fine print on this one! Just get to your $25.00 BEFORE coupons and doubles to activate the catalina!

Unknown said...

I sometimes buy cheap hamburger and when I do, I use a turkey baster (sp?)to suck out the grease.

Thanks for all of the great match ups.

amanda said...

I can't buy fatty meat! I am willing to pay for the good stuff!

Carol said...

Once upon a time I dated a guy who would brown the hamburger, then he would pour water in the pan, wait a couple of minutes while the fat rose to the surface, and then he would just pour off the fat along with the water. I don't know how much of the fat poured off, but I could see the oil slick it left in the sink.

Leah said...

I don't mind buying 80/20 but anything with a higher fat content I stay away from. After factoring in what you threw away and are left with, it's not always the best deal.

GaoyouMom said...

Boy, not to complain about a good promotion, but can't they space out these things out little more? :-)

Julie - how you make the dehydrated yogurt snacks? That sounds good.

Anyone know when the Conagra Promo starts? The only thing on my add is on the back page and it's Kraft spend $30. THnaks

The Hansen's Family Fun Night said...

Question: With all the promos this week how many purchases can you make in a day on one prefered card and still get your catalina to print?

Amber said...

Cristina, The Conagra promo starts tomorrow.

Hansens,
A memo came out awhile back stating that cashiers could not allow customers to do more than 3 transactions in a row, so with that in mind, my answer is 3. But truthfully you should be able to do the promos over and over again.

Occasionally, I have heard readers say if they do back to back transaction with a certain promo another cat will not print, but if you are buying the correct items they will probably just force the cat through. The only time I would tell you to limit your transactions would be if a promo specifically states only 1 cat per household/family per day or something like that. Otherwise, transact away!

Okay this is one of the more complicated scenarios I am going to try. Am I planing this right?
Buy 2 Oreos use coupon for 1.00 off 2 boxes of Nabisco cookies or crackers Oreos 2.79
Buy 2 Gallons Milk and 2 more oreos use free cookies expires March 4
Buy 1 Tide double .35 off Tide 10.99
Buy 1 small Tide Stain Release use free coupon
Buy 1 Cascade use double 1.00 coupon Cascade 3.99
Buy 1 Downey double 1.00 Downey 5.99

Cost of Promo items
4 Oreos @ 2.79=11.16
1 Tide 10.99
1 Cascade 3.99
1 Downey 5.99
Total Before coupons 32.13
Save 2.79 X 2 for 2 free Oreos 5.18
.70 on Tide(double .35 coupon)
2.00 Cascade (double 1.00 coupon)
2.00 Downey (double 1.00 coupon)
I have made sure the coupons I'm doubling do not say DND and I'm also getting free stain release but it is not the size in the sale so I did not include it in the calculations.

If I followed you correctly it should work out great! Anyone else?

Unknown said...

Thanks.

Also, I tried to do a "back to back" with the $7 Cat promo and it did not print the second time. Customer Service did it for me and it worked fine. I went the next morning and it worked and then two hours later after the gym and it worked again. All of the transactions I used coupons and doubles.

Ali Smith said...

I am totally in the head-spinning boat with all of you...I'm sitting here going through all of the deals and printing my coupons and MAN! I can't remember the last time I had to PLAN so much for a trip! Lol. I am definitely excited and not complaining, but man oh man...I'm going to need a nap after shopping tomorrow! :)

Oh, and does anybody know how many times you can print the recession payback coupons? I have so far printed three Manwich coupons (had to play it each time) and will keep on going with some Hunts coupons if it will work, but I printed them previously, so wasn't sure...anyone?

Ali Smith said...

One other question...has anyone had any success in freezing the Danimals stuff? I definitely want to take advantage of the awesome price, but don't want to buy more than what my kids can eat before they get bad! Plus, my fridge can't hold nearly as much as my freezer can. :)

Ali Smith said...

Ah! One more thing! Lol. You list the Sara Lee bread (classic white & classic wheat) with the $.55/1 coupon, but isn't that coupon strictly for the Soft & Smooth varieties (whole grain white, DHA+, etc)?

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Ali-

I have had great success freezing danimals! My kids love it! They call it their desert. I love it too, yogurt for desert!

You might be right about the bread coupon.

don't know about the playback game. Anybody?

~Monica

Aubrie Olsen said...

With the playback game my browser opened another window to print through smart source and they don't let you hit back to print twice. So I tried back on the game page and hit back and it let me print whatever coupons I wanted without playing the game again. I only printed up to two, but I didn't try to print more. HTH!

I am not seeing the Con Agra Promo in the ad, am I missing something....

I still have 6 twice the value to use by saturday :) trying to figure out best way to do it.

Mama Yo said...

The ConAgra promo is on the back page of the smaller ad that is inside the big ad (The just CHILL is on the front page of the smaller ad also).

Unknown said...

Thanks, I just looked and am not seeing it??? But anyway, the hunt's bbq sauce and ketchup are $1??

Julee said...

I didn't get a smaller ad in either of my Idaho Statesman or Press Trib inserts - just the larger ad with the Easy promo.

Unknown said...

Does this mean that it is still on for us?? so much going on, it is hard to keep track this week!!

Mama Yo said...

I pulled my ad out of the Statesman and there is the large one folded in half. When you open that up (so you can see the back page where the Tide and Charmin are pictured), inside that folded paper is a smaller one that has the blue "just chill" logo at the top and "save $10"), on the back page of that insert, you'll see a yellow/golden banner at the top of the page that says "Save Tonight - Cozy Meals, Sweet Treats, Warm Up Your Family" and in the middle of the page it has a blue banner shwere it says "Save $10 oynso wyb $25 or more....".

Yes Russell, the Hunts BBQ sauce and ketchup are $1.00 each.

If you'd like, I can scan it for you guys - let me know. :)

Yeah, freezing yogurt works (although it kills the beneficial bacteria), but our freezer is full. To dehydrate it (because someone asked), if you have a dehydrator, you just spread the yogurt out about 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch thick, as if you were making a fruit leather. I usually dehydrate it at a slightly lower temp than I use for fruit leather. Once they are the texture of fruit leather, you can do one of two things. I usually just roll them up and wrap them in wax paper and store them in our cool basement pantry. You can also cut them into bite-size pieces and put the pieces back in the dehydrator and dehydrate them some more, which makes them chewier and easier to store (because they don't stick together). For me, that's not worth the trouble, but it might be if you want them already in bite-sized pieces for kids. My kid just eats them like a fruit roll-up, and he eats them fast enough that we don't need them to stay good forever. Redehydrating the cut-up pieces will make them last slightly longer because you've removed even more moisture. But I've kept them in the basement for as long as a year without any trouble (although we usually eat them much faster than that). Anyway, this process keeps some of the friendly bacteria alive, which we like, and my son and husband LOVE these.

Unknown said...

I get the CDA Press and it wasn't in there :( Would it still be valid in Idaho?

Mama Yo said...

Here is a link to the part of the ad in question:

https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B1z_xIBjHTwFMjgwMTAxNjQtODdjMy00OTRiLTlkYzMtNTUzNWFhZjNhZTc1&hl=en

On the bottom of the page in the fine print it says:

COOP BACK COVER: 3/3/10 - All Intermountain, Seattle Metro, Southern Oregon, Portland OR/Vancouver WA, Ellenburg-Walla Walla WA, Tri-Cities WA, Wenatchee WA, Eastern Oregon - A

So maybe not working for the CDA area? :(

Mama Yo said...

No really, THIS should be working!! HA HA!

HERE!!

Unknown said...

those links didn't work for me :(

bummer, I save some twice the value just for that...drat :(

Unknown said...

that link worked!!

we didn't get that so I wonder if the hunts is still $1??

Joella said...

I'm in the Seattle area. I went early this morning to my Albies... only the yogurt was marked the correct price and with the special $10 coupon with $25 purchase tag. But I took all the other items up to the front (Angel TP, Manwich, Rotel, Tomatoes, Pudding Snack Paks) and since the cashier wasn't busy, she checked the prices and they were all the appropriate sale prices... BUT my catalina did not print. This special is not listed in my ad... I'm wondering if it will be in Sundays ad? Since she wasn't busy, my cashier did another transaction with just the yogurt and forced a catalina for me!

Mama Yo said...

Joella - sounds like the Seattle ad was slightly different than ours (Boise, ID)... since we've got so many new NW readers, I'll be sure to read the ad carefully and list what areas are listed in the fine print of the ad.

Sorry! :(
