Awesome preview - thanks a ton!!!

Is this a complete list of participating items or are their others?

Sara said...

thanks a ton! I was planning on cashing in on rain checks from last weeks sale, however may have to reprioritize. I am expecting any day now, and a few of these freezer ready foods would be a nice to have on hand.

Wow. This is exciting for sure! Thanks for doing all the hard work to post this for the rest of us!

I have a questions about tax ad the catalinas. Since they are technically considered a MF coupon, will they cover tax? Or does tax always have to be paid for OOP? For example, if I have $9.50 worth of items, and .57 for tax, bring the total to $10.07, will a $10 catalina apply, or will it only cover $9.50? I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Amber said...

sla-
Tax must always be paid for OOP, as the state will never be reimbursed by the manufacturer! :) The catalina will not pay for any portion of the tax. You will need to find a filler item! Does that help?

Stylin' Binder's said...

Thanks for all the hard work cathy!

Sophie said...

Thanks Amber!

Mama Yo said...

Martha, all the items are listed in the post.

Sla, all if these scenarios are not including tax. So you'll have no problem using the catalina. Except for the money maker transaction, for which you will need to buy filler items with anyway. Yay!!!

Hello all,
I went to albies and tried the deal yesterday and it worked, though it would have been cheaper if i would have waited. =( Anyhow, I bought 6 hotpocket packages and 4 sideshots and the catalina printed, so looks like they are part of the promo too.

Unknown said...

How are the SmartOnes 1.99 in their ad that's already out and then they go up to 2.49 on Sunday?? How does that work?

Rebecca Davidson said...

Any ideas how we can get some extra doublers this week? I wish we could buy those on ebay!

Sophie said...

I upped my Sunday papers to 10. I am really trying to build my stockpile, so between doublers and just the regular coupons, it was worth it to do that for the next couple of months. I will be asking for a copy of the ad when I head into the store as well for more!

Mama Yo said...

Tonya - Yes, don't you love how they change the prices!

Becca - sadly, we don't have any way of getting a slew of extra doubles to share. Like Sophie, I upped my Sunday papers. So worth it in order to save $3 per paper because of doubles. You may just consider going to Walmart to purchase the Sunday paper (I think they sell for $1.35 first). Just make sure you peek inside to make sure the inserts and doubles are in there! I know there have been problems in the past with people stealing them out of the Sunday paper. :(

Maria - are you local? Sounds like it is already running! Woot!

Julie G. said...

Thanks for the heads up! I get 5 papers, but I usually get more ads from the customer service desk. Do I need to grab as many as I can from the C.S before Wednesday?? Or will the doublers be in the ad until March 9th, meaning I can still get them from CS after Wednesday? I hope that makes sense.

HOT post!! Great work, ladies. I'll definitely be giving you a big ol' link back later today. Thanks for your HARD work. Well done.

The Balcom Family said...

I get my papers at the dollar store. That way I can decide each week how many I want/need.
And as far as going to customer service for more coupons, some stores will keep them stocked the whole campaign, others will only have a limited amount. (I'm fortunate enough to have 4 of the 7 Albertson's in Pierce County all within 10-15 minutes of my house, so I'm getting to know them pretty good! i.e., who's good for rain checks, who's coupon friendly, etc.) If you don't have the option of "shopping around" you'll get to know your C.S. counter pretty well and whether or not they mind if you take more coupons.
Good luck!

Mama Yo said...

Glutz - the doubles are in the Sunday ad only this week. Although they'll be good thru the 6th, like balcom said, some stores may run out at some point. We don't know yet if there will be more doubles on 3/7 to finish up this promo. Have fun!

Alicia Cole said...

My manager gave me a heads up that there WOULD be doublers in this coming Wednesdays ad. I haven't seen it myself but she is very reliable! HTH.

Carol said...

Thanks so much for this fantastic post! Really appreciate all the work that goes into what you do.

Hi everyone,
I am located in Boise idaho, sorry about that. The promo might have started earlier, was hearing it was working so i tried it last night and it worked!

Sophie said...

For the Boca Burgers, I wasnt couponing yet when the coupon came in January, but I did find the same $1/2 on the All You magazine website for those that are going to purchase it.

jennyjlj said...

Balcom i am in Pierce County to:) Which Albies do you find coupon friendly? My favs so far are Military road and Pacific and then Meridian and 160th. Exciting to see another local on here!!!

Martha said...

Sounds like this deal is going from 2/24/10 until 3/25/10.

NevaCN said...

Great promo!! Thanks for the great site! BTW: The OreIda mashed potatoes were not in my Albertsons...has anyone seen them? Got juice, Hot Pockets and Sm 200 calorie pizzas for my lunches--fabulous!:)

Liberty and Jazlyn said...

I am trying to print some of the coupons and they are not printing. My computer acts like they print but they are not. I think it is something to do with bricks. I am using firefox. Help anyone?

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Neva,
They had the Steam n Mash at my local Albertsons (Boise, Idaho), and while they ARE listed in the ad specifically, they are NOT generating the cat. A manager will have to manually force it through!

Julianna,
Switch browsers and that should correct the problem. Try Internet Explorer instead of Firefox. Hope that helps! Let us know if you continue to have a problem because there are more advanced solutions if you are still unable to print!

Emilee Wolters said...

I didn't see the Bagel Bites in the ad. Did anyone see them at the store? Are they part of the promo?

Mama Yo said...

Emilee - They are in included in the promo... the image above is a scan from the Wednesday ad (3/3), that included a few more items in the promo.

Mama Yo said...

I haven't done the sale yet, but fab reader Tracy emailed us this info she found out this morning while shopping in Nampa:

It turns out, the ONLY Steam and Mash items that are actually included in the "Chill" sale are the Mashed SWEET Potatoes, even though both regular varieties are pictured in the ad... As well, the ONLY frozen juice varieties included in the sale are Grape, Cranberry and Pineapple - ONLY... despite the fact that the store list says "blends"... LOOK AT THE STICKERS UNDER EACH ITEM. The AD is NOT CLEAR, and NEITHER is the STORE LIST that they have hanging near the freezers.... look at the tags under each item.

Good luck everyone!

Amber said...

None of the Steam n Mash potatoes are triggering the cat, but all 3 pictured ARE included in the sale! Until they fix it a manager will have to manually force a cat. Also, they will honor their ads so just showing the ad should work.

Also, at 5&O the orange-pineapple was labeled as included, so I bought some and my cat printed out just fine. I'm not sure if that was a fluke or what, but the only other varieties were the ones Tracy listed.

Ken said...

Thank you for the scenarios Cathy. Initially I couldn't figure out how to buy 10 "Chill" items and use only three doublers. The juice is key huh?! I feel like I knocked it out of the ballpark today. Coupons worked, doubled, cats printed and I rolled twice without holding up the line too bad. I found a good Tide B1G1 Stain release deal. Thanks again for helping me get started!

Melissa said...

look for $4/10 peelie coupons on the Smart Ones frozen entrees too!

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Found out the prices of the Bertolli and Rosetto pasta that are included in the sale.

Bertolli 8.59 (seems to high)
Rosetto $3.99 (that is not bad)

Oh and on the Smart Ones I bet you could take the ad in with the $1.99 price and they would honor it for you. ad good til Tuesday!

~Monica

Martha said...

You mentioned Bertolli and Rosetto but I didn't see them on the post. Are there other things that aren't listed?

smiling_mama said...

O.K. So who is running out of freezer space already??? I am, I am!! Ha,Ha,Ha!!

Angela R. said...

Ladies, where oh where is this fabulous ad??? I didn't see it in Tacoma, WA paper, and can't find it online! Will it roll out Wed? I am dying to put this on my blog, but have no idea where the ad is! HELP!!

Mama Yo said...

Angela - the ad was in the Sunday paper. I'm looking at the fine print on the bottom and it does say Tacoma News Tribune. Email me if you want and I'll send you a scan of the bottom of the paper so you can see if your paper was supposed to be included.

Mama Yo said...

Tyree said...

I did see other items inclueded that were not listed. Check around for the little blue tags.

heatherlf said...

Did one transactions at 5 mile and overland. Why or why do I continue to go there I never am able to get what I need!!!! They were all out of every kind of juice included also out of chinet plates on sale. The only mashers they had were sweet so I bought 2 and the CAT still didn't trigger, she said all the mashers weren't doing it so they forced it through after the cashier acted like he had no idea what promo I was talking about. I hate holding up lines and looking like an idiot...

Amber said...

Heather,

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience there, but I think you will find that the juice for the promo will be flying off the shelves at EVERY Albertsons! If each family prints the coupons only twice, they can get 8 of them. But I know of many readers stocking up, and therefore printing from multiple computers. It is such a hot item you might want to talk to the grocery manager about placing a special order if you want a lot of a certain variety.

We know the managers well @ 5&O, and while their cashiers are often terrible to work with, the grocery managers try to be pretty accommodating. But seriously their cashiers are a whole other story! I have my favorites there for sure, but I have had a few rotten experiences like yours. :(

Shelley said...

Has anyone had trouble with the fact that the doublers clearly state only three per family per shopping trip? I live 20 minutes from my nearest Albies and don't want to go five times to make use of them.

Amber said...

Shelley,
Where do you live? If you are local, most of the stores around here allow 3 transactions in a row. So you can use 3 sets in 1 shopping trip. Other stores have no limit and others will make you go out to your car before doing another transaction. I would call the store you are planning to shop at & ask them what their policy is. It is pretty store specific.

Courtenay said...

Can you combined your purchases for two different catalina promotions and have them both print? For example, can you buy 10 products with the Just CHILL promotion and buy $20.00 worth of GM products all in the same transaction, and have both the $10 & $7 catalinas print?

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Courtenay,
Absolutely! As long as the promos are different, both cats WILL print. You just can't buy $40 worth of GM products and get 2 $7 cats in 1 transaction or 20 CHILL items and get 2 $10 cats. But combining different promos will work! It's a GREAT week at Albertsons isn't it?!

Charlene said...

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you live as far north as I do...the Lake Stevens, WA Albertsons had a bunch of doublers in a basket by the doors. I was able to grab lots of extra for the rest of my trips this week! Yay!

heatherlf said...

Amber
thanks I hate to be down on that store cause I know you know the managers. I think I just hit it wrong all the time. Its all about timing I know!! I tried once more this morning and they were putting out cases of juice YES I got there just in time because one lady was buying them in the boxes so that makes the disapear fast!
I like that store because its smaller to get around and so close to my house but just seems like I can rarely hit it right without having to go many times.

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Buying them by the case? DON'T HOARD PEOPLE! IT IS RUDE!!!!!!!

Julie said...

That stinks when people hoard stuff like that. I think I'm going to have to call ahead for both the juice and the fruit snacks. Bleh.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the Rosetto pasta site has a $1.50/2 coupon for anyone who is interested in that.

Sophie said...

I went tonight and bought the Steam and Mash, the regular kind, and the Cat did print. The manager was super surprised. She said they were sending many emails to get it fixed so hopefully it is now. Also 5&O Albertsons had 3 out of the four juices on sale in stock, they were out of grape, they were just in an endcap by the butcher.

Sophie said...

Oh also the Jose Ole products are $4.49 instead of $3.99. Since they are not pictured in the ad that came out on Sunday, they wont honor the lower price. And the Boca Burgers were ringing up at $3.49 instead of $2.99, so they did adjust that price for me since they were pictured on the Sunday doubler ad. Be careful when you check out and make sure all the prices are right!!

Joella said...

I'm a little sad. My store USED to let me do 3 transactions, BUT they had a lady come through who cleared the shelves, bought over 150+ of a sale item and did it all in separate transactions, so she could use 50 sets of 3 triples! So now you can only use 3 triples per shopping trip... no multiple transactions. :( BUT there was a Jose Ole Quesadilla for 2.49! It was marked with a blue tag for the special and it worked... with the $1 coupon doubled, it was .49 minus the catalina! None of Steam & Mash were marked, but I tried them today and the catalina printed! We ate the garlic kind tonight... they were yummy!

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Julie- Thanks for the Rosetto coupon I am going to have to do a post about that. Are you coming to the class in Rigby b/c it would sure be fun to meet you. I feel like I know you already. lol

~Monica

Fabulessly Frugal said...

Sophie- THanks for the price updates. You will see them at our prices tomorrow. Wonder if some of the others not in the wed as will go up? Hope not!

Joella- :( I am sad for you.

Kodie said...

My kids have been sick all week, so I just barely made it to Albertsons (Cherry Road) today. None of the Steam and Mash had the Just Chill tag on them, and they are not in the ad that I got this morning from customer service. Are they no longer part of the promo?

Unknown said...

I am really having a hard time finding the juice in stock. I have went twice now and both stores have been out. I am in the Meridian/Nampa area.
