Albertsons Doubles on Sunday

This Albertsons sale just keeps getting more fabulous!

It's been said and confirmed by multiple sources that
there will be doubles on Sunday!

Woot!

That being said... there are a few things to consider as you prepare for the Quaker Sale we told you about on Saturday (I hope you've ordered your Quaker Coupons on eBay! It's not too late!)

  • Are you getting multiple copies of the Sunday paper? I currently get 6, this means I'll get six sets of doubles. How many more sets can I get? Not a ton more... each time I go to the store, I can go to customer service and they'll give me one set. But I'm not going to be able to do one million and five transactions with doubles (nor would I want to!). If you're not getting multiple copies of the Sunday paper, this is a great week to start! Be sure you ask for the FABULESSLY FRUGAL deal! Read this for all the details and contact info.
  • Remember that if you're using doubles, you will have to do separate transactions. If you are not using doubles (or only have one set to use) just make sure the number of items you purchase is a multiple of 5, and you'll be able to do it all in one transaction.
  • If you are planning on purchasing a TON of cereal and granola bars - PLEASE contact your store and let them know how much you are wanting and they'll let you know if you should place an order or not! (Read Monica's post all about placing orders here).
Scenarios:

$5.00 - (5) boxes of granola bars
- $2.00 - (2) $1.00/2 Quaker Granola Bars- $2.00 - (2) doubles
- $0.55 - (1) $.55/1 Quaker Granola Bars - $0.45 - (1) double {they will most likely adjust this down to $.45 so you don't get overage}
=$0.00 {plus tax!!}

WOOT! 5 boxes of granola bars FREE!

Even if you don't have that combination of coupons, you can still great a great price on granola bars.

$5.00 - (5) boxes of granola bars
$1.60 - (1) box of granola bars -remember you need to buy in increments of 5 to get the $1.00 price
- $3.00 - (3) $1.00/2 Quaker Granola Bars
- $3.00 - (3) double coupons
=$.60 {plus tax}

$.10 for a box of granola bars is still FAB!!

$5.00 - (5) boxes of granola bars
- $2.75 - (5) $.55/1 Quaker Granola Bars
- $1.65 - (3) doubles
=$.60 {plus tax}

$.12 for a box of granola bars... beats Costco and Walmart any day!

Remember the Aunt Jemima Pancake and Syrup (syrup is $1.40) are a part of this sale as well. There is a $1.00/2 Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix or Syrup coupon out there! (PYP says we didn't get this one. It was in the 1/3 RP in some regions.)

$3.00 - (3) Aunt Jemima Pancake mix
$4.20 - (3) Aunt Jemima Syrup
-$3.00 (3) $1.00/2 Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix or Syrup
-$3.00 (3) doubles
=$1.20 {plus tax}

Averages to $.20 per item!

Above all else - please remember to be kind to others and to the cashiers and save some for everyone (and purchase what you will use before it expires). Can you imagine how exhausted we'd be if there was a mad sale like this every week?!?!

Do you know if the fiber chewy granola bars are included in the $1 sale??

Mama Yo said...

Not sure - the ad just shows a picture of the chewys and the dips and says 7.9-8.7 Select Varieties.

Just got back from Albertsons (5&O). I spoke to Damien. He and Brian are all prepped for a week of craziness!

A few things to note, I gave them a list of every Quaker related coupon out there right now, so they now know exactly what items will be hot (ie. free) items, as well as what items will probably fly off of the shelf. They are EXTREMELY well stocked and he said that is why they have been turning away some preorders. But after chatting for a bit, he realized how HOT this sale really is and how many of us have coupons.

Armed with that knowledge, if you have a large order (10 boxes of granola bars does not constitute a large order), they will take orders. And he also said they will do rain checks.

The best part about my whole conversation with him was when he said, and I quote, "This sale is going to be awesome for us. We love that you guys have coupons to match it because we can potentially make a LOT of money." I love this guy!!

Oh and 1 last thing, they will be carefully scrutinizing the Fred Meyer $3/5 coupon to make sure it is an original and not a copy. They will NOT accept a copy, regardless of whether it is a MQ or not.

wow good to know Amber.
Man how whenever i go to Overland and 5 mile I just have a bad experience or more like a bad vibe. Its right around the corner from my house so I keep going there but half the time I'll drive further to avoid it. Is there a better time to go. There's a few cashiers in particular that just give me the worst vibe like I'm trying to scam them and I've been going for quite a while its like you're making money off this I'm not doing anything wrong!
sorry vent over ;)

Amanda said...

That's awesome to hear, thank you. Heather, I've never had a great experience there either, I feel like the cashiers despise me most of the time! I too drive further to another store where people are nicer.

I just got the $3/5 coupons from the Fred Meyer on Federal Way, they're in the book, not copied, I hope they won't give me trouble! They still have a big stack as of right now inside customer service on a shelf near the swinging door where the employees enter (if thee person you ask doesn't know what you're looking for you can tell them right where they're at! ;) ).

Sorta off topic, can someone tell me Rock's phone number who sells the newspapers? I met him at 5&O but lost the paper he gave me with his # :( TIA!

heatherlf said...

Mandey also glad its not just me and oddly I have Rocks #. I put it in my binder when i signed up with him also at that store. Had to call him once cause it wasn't exactly what he sold me or maybe i didn't understand but the statesman got it straightened out as far as i know. Anyway the number he gave me is 602-7828

Mandey -

You can just call the Idaho Statesman and get the exact same deal that Rock told you about - but ask for the Fabulessly Frugal deal. The only difference is that we get a kickback ;) - just one way you can support the blog and keep us in "business". {hint hint} Ha ha!

You can read all about the newspaper deals here:
http://www.fabulesslyfrugal.com/2009/08/fabulous-idaho-statesman-deal.html

You can also read all about how we make money here: http://www.fabulesslyfrugal.com/2010/01/disclosure-we-make-money.html

Thanks! :)

By the way - I was just at 5&O tonight and they have TONS of product!! TONS!!! And Josh told me that there was TONS MORE in the back.

WOOT! {Although my coupons won't come until Wednesday or Thursday}

I live near 5&O, so that is where I'll be shopping! Hope to see some of you out there!

I your store lets you have overage, this might work.
Buy
4 granola bars
1 Quaker oats (42oz)
= $5.40
use 2 $1/2 mc granola bars
1 $1/1 IP Quaker oats
3 doubles
= $.60 overage.
Maybe we can use the overage on the popcorn/soda deal.

Does anyone know if the instore coupon for the popcorn/soda deal is a manufacturer or store coupon?

Mama Yo said...

It is a manufacturer coupon.

Hi! I have been totally out of the coupon loop for over a month because I moved and just got internet back yesterday so I don't know if this is old news but here is something I found today. I was at Albertsons and I picked up a pamphlet that is red and says "Value your heart." It has the Albertsons logo on it. I has a bunch of coupons, one of which is a $2/2 boxes Instant Quaker Oatmeal. It is a manufacturer coupon that expires 4/30/10. I am in Western Washington. The pamphlet was at the front of the store kind of near customer service.

Just made a quick trip to the Nampa greenhurst store on my lunch and they took the mq from the FM booklet. I was not surprused, but I know some of you have been worried.
I also noticed that they were taking the yellow fm mq's (from the aisle) too? That surprised me.

I am in UT and I just went the the Albertson's by my house and they wouldn't accept the mfq for 3$/5 for the quaker sale because it came out of another store's ad. Even though it clearly says manufacturer's coupon on it. I'm pretty bummed about that. Anyone else having that problem?

Amanda said...

Cathy, I'll definitely do that then, you've helped me more than Rock has ;)

I'm so psyched to go shopping tonight! Free oatmeal and cheap cereal, then granola bars in a few days! I can't believe how great this sale is, it's all I'm talking about practically lol. Yippee! :)

Mama Yo said...

Mandey - Thanks!! I can hardly wait to go shopping too. All the comments and people visiting the site makes me feel like we should all have a shopping party together! It's always so fun to run into couponers at the store. I must say I've been dreaming about my shopping trip... it's definitely consumed me for the past few days! (sad, how a fab deal can do that!)

Ann - Does the coupon have a store's name anywhere on it? Do you have another store you can check with (I know those are few and far between now days). That's a bummer!

Bethygil - Welcome back to the world! I haven't heard of that "Value Your Heart" booklet. But we're in Idaho... I'll keep an eye out for it though. Thanks! That's a GREAT one to use right now!

Gwen-

Quaker is HOT, HOT, HOT at all the NW STORES and California. Not sure about elsewhere?

Ann-

I had that same problem at my Albertsons in Utah and was so upset because it is obviously a manufactures coupon, not a store coupon. So my conclusion was that I called my local Wal-Mart and told them the situation and they said they would price match Albertsons prices and accept the coupon!! Wal-Mart can be hit or miss so I was a little nervous to attempt but to my delight it worked with no problems at all :-) Hope this helps!
