My sister once painted a heart wall decoration for me and wrote a message on the back. I've had it for about 15 years.

My grandpa made my sister and I baby doll bunk beds for Christmas when I was like 5. They were so cute and we played with them all day long. I still have mine in my parents attic for my daughter to play with one day.

Its a tie, 1 was a tiny cradle my dad made me when i was a little girl for my cabbage patch doll, i still have it and my daughter will get a lot of playtime with that one. The second was a gift i made for my mom last christmas, i made her a scrapbook that highlighted each of us 4 kids throughout the years along with some meaningful times between her and my dad, that got lots of happy tears and smiles all around :)

My favorite homemade gifts always come from my children. My very favorites will have a handprint, footprint or something like that to remind me how little they are now and how quickly they grow.

My grandpa made me a tiny wooden table and chairs for my doll house. It is the only thing I have left from my doll house, it is so special to me.

When I was 5 my grandfather made me a toy box and a cradle for my dolls. I still have the cradle. Now that he is passed on it makes it even more special to me. I cant wait for my daughter to play with it!

My favorite handmade gifts are the blankets my mom has made for each of my girls. I know they will treasure them forever.

Last year I decided to make a meaningful gift for my husband. I made him a "treasure" chest. I bought an old-world style chest (just a small, desk-sized one I found at Walmart. He LOVES old-world maps/globes/etc) and in it put 365 daily "treasures" for him to read. Each day he pulls a slip of paper out and reads it. I put everything in there from inspirational quotes, random useless trivia knowledge, things to make him laugh, and reasons why I love him ("I love you because (fill-in-the-blank)" He absolutely LOVED it, and he has gotten to enjoy it ALL year long. I am thinking I will refill the treasure chest this year, but am unsure of what I want to put in it yet. I want to do a whole different kind of 365 "treasures."

One of the best handmade items I ever recieved is a plate with a beautiful Santa hand-painted on it by my Grandmother. I hope some of her fabulous talent has been passed on down to me!

I started a photo album for each of my siblings with pictures of our parents when they were first married, and then plan to add pictures of us while we were growing up. It is meaningful to me anyway.

My mother made both of my daughters' baby quilts which turned out gorgeous. My daughters know they are loved by Grandma!

My most memorable homemade gift is a bracelet my mom made me two Christmases ago. It is memorable beause my mom was never very crafty but this was something that for some reason she really wanted to make me rather than buy. That same summer she passed away unexpectadly so I will always cherish the time she took to make it for me and remember her when I wear it. My email is jocelynlockhart@cableone.net

In the 3rd grade I made my Mom and Dad a Christmas ornament. It was a wooden tree all painted with so many colors. The way a 3rd grader would. It hung on our tree every year so proudly. Now 25 years later, my Mom and Dad has both passed on, It hangs proudly on my Christmas tree every year.
