Lunch Break Albies Run: My Tips

This info is for the Ad running 6/10-6/16. So you can do it too!

I was totally focused on the General Mills promo: Save $10 on your NEXT shopping trip when you spend $25 or more on participating products.

I thought I would tell you why I bought this stuff. There may be a useful tip here for you.

Chex Mix $1.50
.50/1 and .50/1
FINAL PRICE: .40

When ever I can get Chex Mix for less than .50 I buy a few and hide them. Then when we go on a weekend road trip to visit family I pull them out for travel snacks. I can not stand it when we have to go to a convenient store for snacks. It is so expensive. Plus it saves me a trip to the store for road trip snacks, because I just shop from my pantry.

Dasani water 24 pack Reg $4.50 ONLY $2.70 after $10 catalina
This is a 5 star deals on PYP. Anytime I see a 5 star deal I know if beats Costco.
I used to buy my water at Costco. Now I get a few at Albies when they have a 5 star deal.
We use water for camping, travel and picnics. It is also good to have a drinking water storage in case of emergency.

Betty Crocker Frosting $1.50
.50/1
here and here (print twice at each site!)
FINAL PRICE: .40

I do not need anymore of these b/c I have been doing this for a while and I have enough already. One of the gals at work heard me say .40 frosting and wanted some so I picked it up for her. These are great to have on hand for those last minute cupcake days at school!

Yoplait Gogurts $2.50
.75/2 and .80/2 and .80/2
FINAL PRICE: $1.10/$1.13

These are a favorite at my house. I am getting more of these next week. I just put and order in at one of the stores I shop. Why would I want more than 6, I only have 2 kids? Well we freeze them and the boys eat them like Popsicles. Extra tip here: Take them out of the boxes and you will be able to fit more in your freezer!

Red cherries $1.99/lb
We always share this tip at our classes. Produce coupons are hard to come by and if you want your family to be healthy you need to eat produce each week. Most people do not want to go to multiple store to get their food, so we recommend buying the 4 and 5 star fruit at Albertsons each week. These cherries are a 5 star deal this week!

I bet you want to know the total?
Promo item total $25.50
5 Star Cherries $4.30
Total before coupon: $29.80

Coupons redeemed
(3) .50 Chex
(1) .75/2 gogurt
(2) 1.00/2 gogurt
(1) 2.00 catalina (click if you don't know what a catalina is) from Crystal Light last week
Total $6.25

Total $23.55 plus tax

But I got that Fab catalina for $10, which is like paying $13.55 plus tax
(Less than $1 an item)

MY promotion items added up to $25.50 so if you want to duplicate this exactly it will work for you too!

I'm a confused newbie. I was under the impression that you can only use one manufacturers coupon on each item. The chex mix and the frosting use two coupons?

Also, the coupons for the yogurt (75 cents when you buy two)...are you using a coupon for each yogurt? Purchasing 2 yogurts and using 2 75 cents off 2 coupons? So you're saving 1.50 on 2?

Sorry! I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of couponing but I seem to be missing something! Thanks for any help you can provide!!

That's right. Only one manufacturers coupon on each item. She was being nice and giving us options on where to get the coupons for the chex mix and the frosting. At the moment, you can get those coupons from more than one place so she was listing both (also in the event that you are maxed out at one site, go to the other to get more).

Now the gogurt. She has six boxes of gogurt in the picture and she used 3 coupons on the gogurt. She used one .75/2 coupon taking 37.5 cents off each box. She had 2 coupons of $1/2 boxes so that's 50 cents off each box. She didn't save 1.50 on two boxes.

Hope that clears up your confusion.

Thanks so much! Still trying to get the hang of this. I started reading this site a few weeks ago and my first couponing trip was totally overwhelming. This week I think I'm starting to get the hang of it though. Its kind of like a big puzzle trying to match coupons to good sales. :)
