Got sick Kids? Get 50% off plus Free Shipping

Bionaire.com - 468x60 -save 50%

I don't know about you but this time of year my children are constantly getting sick. It seems like they are always congested. Coughing at night, waking up with sore scratchy throats. I did a little research on humidifiers and found a great deal.

Right now you can save 50% off of Bionaire Humidifiers, and get FREE shipping with the code DEALHUNTERFR4. Go to Bionaire.com to get yours, or click on the link above!

In my research I found out that humidifiers help more than just sick kids.

Add moisture in dry months: Maintain a healthy level of humidity throughout the year, helping to reduce dust and bacteria. (Oh does this mean I do not have to dust as much?)
Relieve scratchy throat and hay fever symptoms: Moisture helps relieve dry skin and eyes, coughs, and scratchy throats … helping you breathe better and sleep more comfortably.
Reduce static electricity: Beneficial to people, computers, and other home electronics.
Maintain your home’s interior: Consistent moisture level protects wood floors, plant life … and even furniture, musical instruments, paint, and wallpaper.
Increase freshness: Adding humidity can increase the freshness in your home, alleviating stale “indoor air.”
Lower energy bills: Moist air feels warmer than dry air, so you can set your thermostat lower while still feeling warm and comfortable. (We like that one, saving money!)

Walgreens deals - Need Knee-Highs?

Tonight I stopped by Walgreens to pick up my free photos and browsed for deals. I found several clearanced deoderants, lotions, and health/beauty items. I don't need much now, but did buy 3 small bottles of Vaseline conditioning lotions clearanced to $1.79 and used my -$1.50/1 coupons, making them $.29 each. I also found Walgreens brand knee-highs on a back end-cap for 10 cents a pair and the bubble packaged knee highs for 7 cents a pair. They had tons of them in jet black, lighter black, nude, beige, navy, off-white, white, coffee, another light beige color, and with reinforced toes or sandle-toes. A great deal! I'm always searching my shelves Sunday mornings for a pair to wear, so I grabbed a bunch! I also grabbed some free aluminum foil and free Hersheys candy bars. And after all that I forgot to pick up my photos. Grrrr. But still a great bargain night. (FYI - this was the Eagle Rd & Ustick location - stores vary in when they clearance out products.)

You Need A Budget!! (Plus a Give Away!)

How many of you use a financial software such as quicken or money? C'mon, raise your hands. Yes... there are many of you out there. I'm one of them as well!

For many years, I've quicken user and have considered myself some one that "budgets". I keep track of my money, I have all the different accounts set up to categorize my spending, I look at my reports... I budget, right?

WRONG!

A few weeks ago I came across this little beauty of a software. It's called YNAB, or You Need a Budget! Here is why I love this software and no longer use my quicken (gulp, that's right, you heard me, I no longer use quicken!).

Instead of reactive budgeting (pay all the bills, see what's left and spend it with out much of a plan), this is total PROACTIVE budgeting.

Look at the register... looks familiar, right? It basically works just like Quicken, but here is the beautiful part...
THE BUDGET SCREEN! I Love it! You can use the default categories, or change them to fit your needs (easily). Then you input how much you have available to spend in each category, until your top number (amount available for the month) says zero! As you enter in transactions to your register, it automatically updates your budget screen to let you know if you've gone over or under.

With YNAB Pro you can:
  • import transactions from your bank (the same way you did it with Quicken!)
  • schedule recurring transactions
  • easily split transactions
  • track all of your account balances in one easy to read interface
  • monitor your spending trends
  • compare spending from one category to another
  • never worry about being forced to "upgrade" as the old version retires (think: Quicken)... every time there is an upgrade, you get it for free! FOREVER!!!
This is the electronic way of "envelope budgeting"... it is easy to use, and easy to look at and you'll always know right where you stand!

Now for the fun part.

The good folks over at You Need A Budget, have agreed to giveaway one FREE download of YNAB Pro!!! This is a $49.95 program! AND YOU COULD HAVE IT FOR FREE!

IP's at Kmart

UPDATE: Aperently Kmart has changed the IP acceptance date to March 1. How annoying! See this new press release.
Thanks Jessica

If you are still feeling up to a trip to Kmart try using some of these Internet Printables. It's Hip to Save put together a long list of high value coupons.

I have heard that some have had trouble using the IP's at Kmart. I can tell you that I got the okay in Nampa on Monday and I have heard mixed reviews about the Boise store.

If I were to go I would print and take this press release and highlight the section that says....

"Beginning on Sunday, Feb. 22, Kmart adds even more value to the Kmart shopping experience, both online and in-store. Kmart will start accepting Internet print-at-home coupons, allowing Webfriendly consumers the ability to locate coupons on Kmart.com and Coupons.com through easyto-use Web pages. These sites will let consumers find coupons based on their geographic areas as well as offer tools to track total savings, coupon categories and brands. Coupons will be available on a wide selection of products storewide. Some restrictions apply. See store for details."

Why I ♥ Dave Ramsey

Are you hooked on Dave Ramsey like I am?

You should be.

I bought the audio version of his book, The Total Money Makeover last fall. It rocks. It has changed the way I think about money.

What I love about Dave is how real he is. There isn't anything gimmicky or fancy about what he teaches. He teaches good ol fashioned advice. But it's advice that a majority of Americans have forgotten about. He just makes it doable.

Here are his "Baby Steps" towards financial freedom (of course, it is assumed you are living on a zero-based budget... "If you don't tell your money where to go, it will leave!")
  1. Save $1000 for an emergency fund (I always thought it was weird to SAVE when you had debt to pay off... but having an emergency fund eliminates the use of credit cards the next time you have an emergency! What a concept hu? Since October, we've had to use our emergency fund three times! I'm so grateful we had it!)
  2. Pay off all debt using the Debt Snowball (currently working on this one)
  3. Increase your emergency fund to 3-6 months of living expenses
  4. Invest 15% of income into Roth IRA's and pre-tax retirement
  5. Start saving for children's college funds
  6. Pay off home early
  7. Build wealth and give! Invest in mutual funds and real estate.
Stretching my grocery budget is just one of the things I'm doing as I work on my debt snowball. We've also been selling things, using tax returns to pay down debt, and finding ways to bring in extra income.

For you locals, you can catch Dave's radio show on 580 KIDO from 6-9 in the evening (when he isn't ... or better yet, listen to him live (for free) from his website. He's on from noon to 3:00. You can also read show recaps and listen to his archives anytime you want... free of cost of course!

So, are you ready to "Live like no one else, so you can LIVE LIKE NO ONE ELSE?" I highly recommend his book, The Total Money Makeover!!

Lesson's Learned

I went to check my email yesterday and found that there was a comment on the blog. We love comments! We love to answer your questions and we love to hear what you are excited about. It makes us feel like our writing is appreciated. It is not like we get paid to do this. We are just excited about coupons and love to share it with others. Every one needs to save money in these hard economic times.
This is what the message read courtesy of

Anonymous in Illinois

"if you expect people to read this, i suggest you change the background color.... black text on brown wallpaper? what are you thinking?!? i guess it could be worse..yellow text on white.... good job!"

Wow I could not believe it. How rude. We are all moms who work in and out of the home and in our spare time we try to save people money and this is what you have to say about it.
I have been meaning to change the page b/c I was never quite satisfied with the new look, but I have been too busy posting deals for you.
This comment really bothered Cathy she set right to work re-doing the blog! It looks great Cathy.

So we do appreciate a little constructive criticism but please be kind.

So here are my coupon lessons learned. Remeber the Crazy Diaper Lady? Not to be confused with the Krazy Coupon Lady. Those girls are all really sweet and I am sure would not act like that.

Anyway after that whole experience I found myslef in a reversed role. A cart full of wipes and my friend coming to get them. A lady comes down the aisle looking for the diaper deal. The Easy-ups are gone I let her know that I had been buying the Underjams and planning to excahnge them after the sale and she could probably do the same. She then asked my if the wipe were part of the deal. I told her they were. Meanwhile my friend was on the phone telling me to get her every container they had on the shelf and that she would be there in a few minutes. I just stood there as the lady started to take the wipes off the shelf. I WAS supposed to be getting those for my friend. I just stood and watched her. I was not about to try to grab them. My friend could do with out the last few packages of wipes. She collected the last 4 off of the shelf and then we both realized that she would not have enough for the deal. You needed 6. So I took two out of my cart and handed them to her. Sorry Trish you could have had 6 more packs of wipes.
I felt bad b/c I had the last few packs of Easy ups in my cart that she had come there looking for, but I had already grabbed them for my friend. I didn't want her to feel like I did the day I met up with the crazy diaper lady, so I tracked her down and gave her some wipes coupons to go with her purchase.

So I learned a lesson that day from the crazy diaper lady. Do not ever get so wrapped up in the deals that you forget to be good to other people. Thanks and sorry. I know that was a bad experience for both of us.

I have run into some checkers that have been rude or snide to me when couponing. I have found myslef making an extra effort to be kind and friendly to the checkers and other employees at the stores I shop at. Trying to make conversation or ask how I can make the transaction easier. It is hard for me to be more talkative, but it seems to work. I tell the annoyed teenage boy the he loves to scan my coupons and he wishes I was doing 5 more transactions just so we could hang out longer.

Coupon Rules to Live By

1. Never clear the shelf of an item, others may want some too.
2. Smile and be friendly to other shoppers and employees.
3. Try to make the coupon process easier for the checker.
4. Sweetly warn the people in line behind you that it may take a few extra minutes, and if they are in hurry they might want to pick the other line.

So for the lesson I learned from Annoymous in Illinois.

1. Constructive critisim is appreciated when it is given in kindness.
2. If you like something someone posts let them know. Instead of commenting when you are annoyed, be sure to comment when you enjoy.

Let's all be a little kinder to one another.

Button Button Who's Got the Button?

Did you ever play that game with your family? We did!! Many Monday night memories of that one! (Feel free to ignore the ramblings of a 34 year old woman...)

We've done a little revamping on the blog and just wanted to make sure you grab our new button! Thank you loyal readers and fans!!

Here's a big ol {{hug}} for ya!

Kmart Tips

Here are some tips and scenarios for your Kmart trip.

1. Kmart is now accepting Internet printables. I read this press release today. When I got to the store I asked the cashier and sure enough they are taking them.

2. If you find something is out of stock ask an employee to check in the back. Many times they just haven't gotten time to go around and restock all the items.

3. Have the cashier scan each coupon right after it's corresponding product. If they don't you may get less for your doubled amount. For example, if you purchase Herbal Essence for $3 and used a $1.50 coupon, then the additional doubled amount would be $1.50. If the cashier scans a $1.89 product to go with the Herbal Essence coupon, then it would only be doubled .59 more, so you would be losing out on almost $1 of your double value.

4. Why is this? Well they WILL NOT give you overage. Did that make sense? Like when I bought Kotex it rang up at $1.29 I used a .75 coupon. They only gave me a .54 credit for my double to keep me from getting overage.

5. You can only use coupons with a value of $2 and under. If you try to use a $3 coupon for Herbal Essence they will not give you $2 for the double. They will only give you the $3 off once and nothing else. (Sorry Becky, my bad!)

Here is what I got....

Gillette 11.5–12.2-oz shampoo or conditioner $4.50
Use $2 coupon from the 1/18PG
Final cost .50!

Kotex Pantiliner 18 count 1.29
.75/1 02-22-09 SS
Final Price: FREE (no overage allowed0

I put this in my cart and then reminded myself I don't need toothbrushes I have a drawer full from dental conventions. So I gave the coupon and the brushes to another shopper. I am slowly learning that even if is a good price, if you don't need it, don't buy it!

Oral-B Adult Manual Toothbrush $4.49
$2 on Any Twin Pack (Pulsar, Artica, CrossAction, CrossAction Vitalizer, Advantage, Indicator) - 02-08-09 PG
Final Price $0.50

Not much huh? I was on my lunch break and had less than an hour, I spent time chatting with other couponers and didn't stay very focused. Oh well, I learned a few things and met some nice people.

In honor of the new printables here are a few for you

Select Post Cereals 4/$10
Buy 4 and get $2 off instantly at checkout
Use 2 $1/2 coupons from the 1/25SS
Final cost 4/$4, just $1 each!
There is also a $2 Post Trail Mix Crunch coupon here
If you find those, buy 4 and use 4 $2 coupons
Your total will be 4 boxes FREE, plus a possible $2 moneymaker since it will deduct $2 automatically when purchasing 4 boxes

Huggies or Pampers jumbo diapers; Pull-Ups or Goodnites jumbo $10.99
Use $2 coupons from the 1/11SS, 2/22SS and the 1/25RP
Or $2 Huggies Pull Ups coupon here

Final cost FREE

Scrubbing Bubbles 22 oz. or 28-ct. wipes $2.79
Use the .75 coupon from the 1/11SS

These were items on my list today. I did not get them b/c I could not find them, I did not have enough time, they were cleaned out and most important some of the prices did not match. So I HATE to give a few wrong prices here but I did not have the wherewithal to write down the prices. I tried to cut out most of those from this list for you.

Frugal Tip

So I guess I have been so crazy couponing that I forgot to pay my credit card bill last month. When I got my bill this month I discovered the late fee and interest charges. I swear I paid that thing online, what the heck? The interest charges were only about $5 since my bill has been so low due to couponing. The $39 late fee was not welcomed though.

I learned this a few years back. If you get a late fee or interest charges call them up and ask them to remove it. I quickly paid my bill online in full. A few days later I called my credit card customer service explained that I thought I had paid it online, they verified my account and removed my fees. A $44 savings for a 4 minute phone call.

I do not think they will do this every month so do not plan on that, but for the occasional mistake surprisingly they are very forgiving.

BTW if you are not paying your credit card bill in full, you should read this.

I know I know, if I really listened to Dave Ramsey's advice The Truth About Credit Card I would not even have one. Although I am usually very responsible with mine. I pay it in full every month, plus I really like the $135 rebate I just received from last years spending. Besides I am not afraid to call and have my late charged removed if I forget to pay on time.

Newspaper Delivered

There was a guy at Fred Meyer (Overland/Five Mile) today selling subscriptions to the Idaho Statesman paper. I talked to him about options for the paper and the best deal he could get me on the Sunday papers was .85 each.
He will be there Sat Feb 21st all day if you are interested.

I also have read on PYP that if you order the Idaho Press Tribune they will deliver 4 Sunday papers each Monday for $ 9.60 a month (.60 per paper/16 total).
The guy that does that is Greg Roesberry his # is 475-2324. I am not sure if this is for Canyon County only.

As for me I get 1 copy of the Statesman ads/coupons from my neighbor who thinks I am crazy for couponing. If I want a few more I pick them up at The Dollar Tree. I usually check out the preview to see if I want to get more than a couple. The most I have ever collected of one paper is 4. So far it has worked for me. I may look into the Tribune option a little more, b/c it is a great price!

Vendor coupons at Albertsons

I was working at the Cole Rd./Fairview Albertsons today and was talking to the grocery manager. He reminded me of the sales and asked if I had seen their coupon box. I was of course immediately interested, he showed me a box of extra coupons that they keep behind the customer service desk that you can ask to look through anytime. There are mostly vendor coupons, and there are tons. He told me their goal is to eventually have a coupon rack! What a great idea, I thanked him and told him that I would share this info. Has anyone else seen managers doing anything like this?

Free Tacos from Jack in the Box!

FabuLESS Dining

Get a $25 gift card for $2!

Go to Restaurant.com

Enter in your zip, pick a restaurant (choose $25), then enter in the coupon code: DINE to get the gift card for $2 (rather than $10). You are required to spend $35 at the restaurant and tip on the original bill at 18%, so it ends up being kind of like a buy one get one free. You spend $2 for the gift card $10 to reach a $35 bill equals $12 plus tip. My total bill with tip came to $16 for appitiezer, dinner and desert!

The next window that popped up almost threw me off - it is a $10 rebate offer if you join some discount club... scroll to the bottom right and click "no thanks" to continue on to print off your gift certificate.

You print the coupon right from your home computer so you do not have to wait for it to arrive in the mail. You could even use it tonight.

There are 42 restaurants to choose from in my area right now. If you are not in my state you can use it too. I noticed we have many readers outside of Idaho. Lot's of great locally owned restaurants to try out!

Last time I tried out Donnie Mac's Trailer Park, very child friendly, and Ono Hawaiian Cafe.

Rite Aid - $5 off $20 Coupon Friday/Saturday Only!

Thanks to Mindy from Mommies with Cents for the heads up! Rite Aid has another $5 off $20 good Friday and Saturday only! I'm thinking about using this at Albertsons too... on my first order.

UPdate on Albertsons Catalina!

So my checker at Albertsons tonight decided to do a test on my order - not great timing since I had a baby at home waiting for me, but good info to know. He tried adding two of my orders of 10 participating items together to see if two $10 off catalinas would print. AND...... IT DOES!!! So, that will save you more time if you want to do two sets, then get $20 back each time...

However, you do have to pay more up front, which isn't a big deal if you are going to be shopping there for more items in the near future. But, I still would rather not pay more out of pocket and any one time than I have to.

Also, be aware that if you're trying to get another catalina from a separate promotion, that it will probably only print one set per transaction. FOR EXAMPLE, the "buy 5 or more fruit snacks/roll-ups/etc and get $3.50 back" promo, will only give you one $3.50 back per transaction. So I only bought 5 fruit snacks per transaction.

20 FREE prints at Walgreens

20 FREE 4X6 prints at Walgreens tomorrow (2/20/2009) only. Go here, create an account (if you don't already have one), upload your photos and enter ONEDAY for the coupon code. You can choose to pick photos up at the store and avoid shipping charges.

Kelloggs at Albertsons

I was not planning on buying any cereal this time at Albertsons, but when I discovered this deal I could not help myself.

The Kellogs Cereal is on sale 2 for $5, buy 4 get $4.50 milk credit.

At my store they had BOGO stickers. One of the employees gave them to me from the back, but she said she would be putting them on the boxes of cereal set up by the dairy case.

Here is how is works

Buy 4 boxes 2 for $5 $10.00 (make sure they are the participating sizes)
Use 2 BOGO stickers -$5.00
get a $4.50 milk credit -$4.50

Get 4 boxes for .......... 0.50

If I would have been thinking I would have used my 2 $1/2 printable coupons and it would have been 1.50 overage. DARN.

So keep your eye out for the green BOGO sticker on the Kellogs cereal.

Free Progresso Soup

Use these coupons to get free soup at Albertsons when you do the Buy 10 get $10 Catalina deal.
You can print 2 $2/4 and 2 $1/2 this will give you 6 free cans of soup if you buy 10 items in a transaction.

Trouble Printing?

Get paid to buy Fruit Snacks/Roll-ups at Albertsons!

So, on January 30th I posted about an upcoming catalina deal that Albertsons was having - and now I'm totally using it! With the catalina sale, each box of fruit snacks/roll-ups/etc. is $1.00 (see Pinching Your pennies site for details). Then if you have $.50/2 coupons (General Mills SS1/4 or SS 2/8), that makes them $.75/box. I have $1.00/2 coupons (some stores have these attached to the boxes of snacks), making them $.50/box.

BUT, with the catalina promo, if you buy 5 or more boxes in one transaction, you get $3.50 back in a catalina good on your next purchase. So with the $.50/2 coupon - your total for the 5 is $3.75, subtract the $3.50 catalina = 5 boxes for $.25!

With the $1.00/2 coupon - your total for the 5 is $2.50, subtract the $3.50 catalina = 5 boxes for -$1.00. Make a buck!

TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE SALE!!! If you buy 10 boxes in one transaction, you still only get $3.50 back. So just be sure to only buy 5 boxes of fruit snacks/roll-ups/etc. per transaction along with another 5 participating items so you get BOTH the $3.50 catalina and the $10 catalina. I hope this makes sense and helps you pay even less!

Update - I forgot to calculate that the manufactured coupon is off every two that you buy, so you'd want to buy 6 in each transaction, then 4 other participating items.

CATHY this is for YOU

When I saw this $5 off High School Musical I thought of you, well and your daughter of course. I didn't have time to post so I stuck it in my google reader shared items. Just in case you missed it, get a $5 off DVD or $10 off Blue Ray High School Musical!

Albertsons 2/18-2/24

I am really excited about the Mix and Match Catalina deal this week, but I can not funtion with out this handy spread sheet that helps me make my list. I know it is the same as PYP but it helps you make a custom shopping list and I love that! Hope this helps someone else too!

$1.50 off of YoPlus!

Thank you Storm - the Psychotic Housewife! She has a giveaway over at her blog for some cool Yoplait stuff, including a coupon for some free YoPlus yogurt!

Not only that, she also has a link to a coupon for $1.50 off any flavor of Yo Plus (do it twice!). AND she reminds us that YoPlus Yogurt is on sale at Freds for $2.00! Thank you Storm!

Go to the YoPlus website, and you can print off another coupon for $1.00 off as well (you don't even have to sign up for anything!). Again, you can print this one twice!

Redbox

Here are some more Redbox codes; SHPNSVE2, BREAKROOM or DVDONME good anytime.

1. Codes can be used once per debit/credit card, so you can rent more than one for free by using different credit cards. This rule applies with all codes.

2. Must return DVD by 9pm the next day to avoid a $1/ day charge.

3. Choose your DVD. Touch Enter PROMO CODE at the bottom of the screen. The keyboard appears and you enter in the code. The screen tells you that your total is $0.00. Then prompts you to slide your card. You must do this so that they can charge your card if you fail to return ontime. As long as you return by 9pm the next day you will not be charged. If you decide to keep it for a few days it is $1/day.

Target Kashi and Chex mix

A Thrifty Mom showed us how to get FREE Kashi Bars. There will be overage on this deal so plan to buy something else.

Here is an idea.

Chex Mix on sale for $1.66
Use .50 off Target Coupon
Use .60 off printable
or
.50 off from the insert not sure which one but it expires 3/21/09
OOP- .56 or .66

I bought 2 Kashi Bars and 2 CHEX Mix my OOP w/ tax was 0.96 I used the
.60 printable coupon.

Here is $1 off Chex Mix but it can not be combined with the Target coupon.
It says so on the coupon.

Tip: The Kashi crackers, granola bars and breakfast bars were all $1.75 so you could do that scenario with any of those products.

Oh and there is a Peppridge Farms Fish Crackers $1 off from the Target site. Those are priced at $1.66. If you have any coupons left from Albies I believe these were $1/2 then you could get the crackers for .16.

Old Navy Update

I went to Old Navy today to get the kids valentines. I walked through the store and they have lots of items for $5 or less. So if you don't want to spend any money you could still go home with something. Men's graphic tee's $2.99, door buster balls $2, women's knit tee's $4.99, there were soaps and bath products 2/$5 and clearance items in the back. The kids also get free candy and tattoos on v-day.

ps I picked up a few extras for my friends so if you can't get to Old Navy or just don't feel like going before Sat come by and get some from me!

For more info on this deal see my previous post, $5 Gift Card to Old Navy.

Good Morning America

Look at the phenomenom we are apart of. The ladies at BeCentsAble were featured on Good Morning America today. Check it out to see how big couponing has become and get some helpful hints.

No Coupons This Week

I am loving A Thrifty Mom Sarah she posts something that I find useful almost every day.

Today she clued me into the fact the there will be no coupons in the paper this week. :( It seems that on a holiday weekend the coupons do not come. So with V-day being this weekend we will not get coupons.

If you get your paper delivered you may want to request a "vacation stop"
for this week. I believe you will get a credit and they will stop your paper for the week that you request.

Here are the numbers for local papers.
Idaho Statesman: 377-6370
Idaho Press Tribune: 467-9252

I usually check out Taylortown for coupon preview but Sarah clued me into another site Grocery Coupon Guide. Check them out for upcoming coupon info.

Expired?

During the Kraft cracker sale at Albertsons I noticed that a couple of the boxes of crackers I bought were expired. They did replace them for me no problem, but it was annoying to have to exchange them.

Make sure to check the dates on the stuff you are buying especially if you are stocking up. Will I use all of these before they expire? Even if you get an item for free it is not worth the hassle if it goes bad.

I do use some products past expiration, but it is hard to know what is safe and what is not. What do you do? Any ideas or hints?

Free Sample of Underjams

If you still have a bed wetter you might like a free Underjams sample.

Thank you A Thrifty Mom!

Coupon Tip

Here is a great tip to help you find out if your coupon will work on sensitive toothpaste or tarter control.
In most cases if the first set of numbers on your coupon barcode Manufactuer ID (12345) matches the first set of numbers on your product barcode the coupon will work. Hope this helps!

Thanks KCL Emily

Stamp Price Increase

May 11, 2009 that cost of stamps is going up .02. So next time you are at Costco get yourself The Forever stamps and save yourself $2.44 on stamps after May 11. Hey every little bit helps. Go here for more details on this change.

$5 gift card to Old Navy

I have been hearing chatter on the Internet about the Old Navy Valentines deal. I called our local stores to confirm, but I have heard this is a nation wide deal.

Go in between now and Feb 14th with your child/children, and they will EACH be given a Valentine card to color. Have your child color the Valentine card and then they can bring it back to Old Navy on Saturday, Feb 14th (Valentine's Day) and receive a coupon for $5 off a purchase.

Old Navy is having 40% of kids and baby sale right now. Our stores are also offering a door buster offer for $2 sports balls on Saturday only.

Thank you to Thrifty NW Mom for heads up on this one!

Albertsons 2/11-2/17

Here is the link to the Pinching Your Pennies Albertsons shopping list.
Here is the link to to Utah Forum where people are discussing these deals.

And, they are now going to send out Idaho specific email newsletters. You can sign up for this right here!

Nothing super exciting to me so far... but I'm sure SOMEONE will find SOMETHING! If I have time and am out and about, I'll probably go get some Dannon Light & Fit yogurt (OK, I like this kind too). It most definitely has less calories than the Freddy's Blended stuff!

Fred Meyer this Week

Here are two links to the Freddy's deals this week. I stopped in Monday night for some medicine for my baby and saw they had an in-store coupon for 10 for $3 on their brand of yogurt. Now I'm a pretty picky yogurt eater. I only like Yoplait or Winco's Lucerne yogurt. Last time the Freddy's yogurt was on sale I bought some and was pleasantly surprised! Our favorites are the blended raspberry and blended peach. You can't beat .30 for a cup of yogurt!

Making $ at Walgreens This Week

One of my favorite bloggers, Cathy (ha ha!), over at Chief Family Officer posted about how she is making money over at Walgreens this week.

She did this with the Gillette Fusion Razor, Windex Wipes (I love these for my car), and there are a bunch of "free after rebate" items such as contact solution, Scrubbing Bubbles Wipes or All Purpose Cleaner, shampoo, conditioner, foundation, concealer, lip gloss... check it out and see how you can earn some money! Thank you Cathy!

Tucanos Opening in Boise! Free $10 Gift Card!

Thank you to Angela over at Creative Homemaker (one of my local faves) for bringing this deal to my attention!

Have you ever hear of Tucanos - a Brazilian restaurant that I've heard is FABULOUS! They are opening a restaurant just a few miles from my home, and if you register at their website, you'll get a free $10 gift card to use on your first visit! They are opening tomorrow!! Great timing I'd say!

A New Kind of Coupon Class

As my beautiful, teething, stuffy-nosed, 6 month old finally fell asleep on my shoulder tonight, I asked my husband, "what time is it?" He replied, "11:31, why?" But he only needed to look at my face to see me contemplating just how long it would take to put the baby down, gather my coupons, and drive to Albertsons. (It is the last night of the sale, after all.) He got this incredulous look on his face and said, "You are a coupon addict."

So, I didn't make one last run to Albertsons, even though I would have loved a few more bottles of Old Spice body wash for 24 cents, chinette plates for 50 cents, and clearanced covergirl makeup for free. No, I didn't go.... Instead my husband's words gave me a brilliant idea. I will be starting a new kind of coupon class. Couponers Anonymous. That's right. My name is Tricia, and I am a couponaholic. (I know I'm making up words here.) I used my first coupon about 2 months ago when I learned about double coupon week at KMart, then quickly got carried away with the Albertsons "diaper sale." I admit it. I am addicted.

For the low, low cost of $99*, Couponers Anonymous will help you work through your need to refresh your money-saving blogs every time you walk past your computer. We will also address these "signs you are addicted to bargain shopping" courtesy of Megan's Bargains and More.
  • *You ask your husband to print coupons at work, after you've maxed out the number of times you can print them at home
  • *You check your favorite "bargain sites" over breakfast each morning
  • *It's hard to resist deals on things that are free, even if you won't use them
  • *You have a purse full of random coupons and a pair of scissors
  • *You don't go anywhere w/out a coupon
  • *The checkers at certain stores recognize you
  • *You cringe when you have to actually BUY certain products
  • *You panic when you have less than 5 boxes of cereal in the cupboard and hope you don't have to BUY any
  • *Same for toilet paper
  • *You have a blog about it
If you can agree to any of the above statements, then post a comment and I will contact you about the date and time for the class. *Click here for a -$99/1 coupon (exp 3/31/09), making it free.

Let me know what you think about this tagline - "Helping you overcome your addiction, so I can feed mine."

Freebies

I have never posted about a freebie on here unless I have actually received it myself. I am worried about leading others astray. The problem with that is that by the time I get the item the offer may be over. Like the Costco Diaper sample. Sorry. Here is one that is still going that I actually have received.

Coupon booklet from Home Made Simple
Has over $27 in saving on Procter and Gamble products including a coupon for a FREE bottle of Cascade Crystal Clear Rinse Agent.

I signed up for this today and I guess we will see what happens.

Free pair of MIVODESIGN Scissors

When I first started with all this couponing stuff I did not sign up for freebies.
Gradually I have become more educated on which one's to sign up for.

Here are a few tips for when you sign up

* I use a junk email address,(if you don't have one get one from gmail)
* Sometimes I use another name
* I rarely put a current phone number (I can not stand telemarketers)
* I never put my real b-day. I chose one that I can remember and puts me at my age.
* I do give my address since I want the freebie.

More Albertsons

I forgot to mention that the 10 mile Albertsons had several Gillette fusion power razors on clearance for $2.74. If you are at other stores, you might want to check to see if they have more. They also have 5 pks of disposable gillettes for $1.39 or so.

Free Dixie Napkins at Albertsons

If you have any coupons for $1/1 Dixie Napkins from the 1/18 RP, you can get them free this week at Albertsons. They are on sale for $1.99, and with the doubling coupons, you just pay tax! I also stocked up on the 6 pks of Dove bar soap, thanks to Emily at Krazy Coupon Lady for the tip. This is my first time linking - hopefully it works. Watch the price at whatever store you go to, however. Eagle/McMillan had them at a higher price point.

Kraft and Popcorn Catalina deal over

Hey gals - if you didn't already buy your Kraft dressing and Orville Redenbacher popcorn- take into consideration that the extra $ off your next purchase catalina promo has ended. I tried to buy more of both today and found out it didn't work anymore. I guess it ended Saturday at the end of the month. (This is the promo where you buy 16 popcorns and get $5.00 catalina off your next purchase or buy 6 kraft dressings and get $3.00 off your next purchase.) They are still a good deal, but were better with the promo!

The Results Are In

Here are the results from the poll.

Coupon Class

Anyone interested in a real life person to person coupon class? If you are leave a comment with your email.

Shopko

It seems that Shopko gets overlooked. I noticed in this weeks add that they have a rebate program. News to me. I also notice that you could get 8 razors for $1.98. I had almost forgotten about it until I read Thrifty Mom's post. She gives all the details on the razors plus a few other good deals.

Are You Ready For This?

Woo Hoo. Albertsons is doubling coupons again! Starting Wed. Looks like there are four coupons on the front page. Go here to take a sneak peek. Thanks Thrifty Soaper. Check her out for a few deal ideas.
I am looking at getting.....

Totinos Pizza Rolls

Oh but wait it says DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE

It seems like last time they doubled some of my printalbes that said that. Was that a mistake? I can not remember that was also the week of the Pampers deal and the spend $30 get $15. That was a crazy week. Anyone remember? What happened with your printables that read DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE? The add says that they would match the price of the coupon, does that mean it doesn't matter if it says DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE or did my checker just make a mistake, or is my memory just blocking it out due to all the stress I experienced doing multiple transactions? Anyone?

Crunch N' Munch

$1.00
$1.00/2 HERE
double
Free

I am having trouble printing this one. Anyone have any luck?
If you can not get it to print either use

Crunch ‘n Munch, any 12 oz. box or larger .35/1 (2-28-09) SS-1/18

Then it will cost .30 if you double

L'Oreal Kids shampoo, conditioner, or 2 in 1 9 oz.

Use .97 in-ad store coupon.

*WARNING* Last time there were many people hording the adds with the coupons so some stores put them behind the counter at CS or just ran out.

Lemonade Award!

I've been so busy, I haven't had time to recognize the award we received not only from Michelle over at Saving Some Green, but also from Marne from Making Life Sweet... One Deal at a Time. Thanks Ladies! What an honor! We sure are having fun with this blog!

So who do I pass it on to? Of course, I'll send it on over to those Krazy Coupon Ladies - another local bunch who is helping us all save some cash! They've got a bunch of women posting - so there is always some action going on over there!

I also must send one over to Laura at Real Mom Kitchen, she has THE BEST recipes!! Although she isn't a "coupon/frugal" blog, she definitely has helped me save money as she has inspired me to cook and try new recipes, when I would have grabbed a burger instead. Thanks Laura!

And lastly, to the crafty creative Marie at Makes and Takes - she has given me so many great ideas for my preschool... these ideas are most often things you can make with everyday items in your home.

Thank you ladies, for your very "unsour" attitudes - I'd say you're as sweet as can be and you inspire me!

Albertsons New Coupon Policy?

It sounds as though effective today, Albertsons is no longer accepting competitors coupons - boo hoo!! I read this in the comments on this post by Mindy at Mommies With Cents. Have you heard anything about this yet? I know that locally some stores haven't been accepting them, but my Albys at Five Mile and Overland always has.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Walgreens Rumor and Tips

I saw this on i heart wags - that there is a rumor floating around that effective April 2009 they will no longer have the easy saver rebate program. Have you heard anything? Hopefully they will replace it with something!!

By the way, here is another great post on ~Top 5 Tips to Play~ at Walgreens thanks to Mommy Snacks!

Week of Feb 1st Deals

Here are some links for this week:
